The story behind the name

Forum Origo.

A place to gather. A beginning for ideas.

01 / Our beginning

An old idea.
A new generation.

The name brings together two Latin words: forum, a public place of gathering, and origo, an origin or beginning.

Forum Origo carries that spirit into a publication for teenagers: somewhere to question the world, encounter another perspective, and begin to form your own. Technology, geopolitics, markets, enterprise, and the lived and the created belong in the same conversation.

02 / A note from our founder

Louis E. Merian

I am an ordinary student with a deep curiosity about the state of the world, from the rapid development of artificial intelligence to the art we humans create. That curiosity led me to found Forum Origo, a name built from two Latin words: forum, a public place of gathering, and origo, a beginning. My aim is to bring together people who share these interests, so that we can examine and understand different parts of the world and make that knowledge accessible to everyone.

I believe information about current events in technology, economics, geopolitics and the arts should be open to all, and that belief is why I started this project. If you would like to join this mission, please sign up as a writer. I would also welcome any feedback or criticism, as it is greatly appreciated.

Carpe diem.

03 / Our purpose

Curiosity should
have no borders.

Our aim is not only to bring together people who share the same interests, but also to spark new ones. Someone drawn to politics might discover a love for the arts, or for what I like to call “the lived and the created.” Information should be accessible to everyone, especially to us teenagers, and that is why Forum Origo was founded. It is a place where people can both learn and teach, where they can seek to understand and also debate.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Louis E. Merian
